Vibe Bar

This bar definitely strikes a cord that most others can’t.  With its unique low key, yet funky style, it is hard to not be mesmerized as you walk in.  At first it looks like nothing special, however, the old Truman’s Brewery is not something that should be passed up by any traveler.  Entering through a beer garden that is quickly crammed with tables and masses of people, locals and visitors, eager to get a casual drink with friends.  This is something that is very different from what we all see back in the US, and it is nice to trade in the “lets get wasted” vibe for a more subtle and responsible way of socializing.

In complete awe of the beautiful trees above their heads and cobblestones beneath their feet, guests pass through the courtyard and enter up a skinny staircase into a darkened room in which drinks are served.  There are giant comfortable couches and low, cushioned stools surrounding tables, but the first thing that catches the eye is a crazy-cool mural of all types of people.  One immediately gets the impression that this bar is open to all cultures and that is exactly true.  It isn’t just locals that work and play there but a mix of people.

However, it wasn’t as welcoming as most expected it to be.  Of course, a large group will attract some attention, but being a large group of American’s attracts double the attention if not more.  Some of the other guests at the bar weren’t to thrilled with our arrival and there were some glares but we ignored them and enjoyed ourselves and we are looking forward to returning sometime soon.  Hopefully next time there won’t be such a big crowd.
